One thing you might be interested in, vmware server is now free to
download and use. My primary desktop at home is running Gentoo. I
used to have a dual boot configuration for the odd time I needed
windows stuff, I was able to completely ditch the dual boot by having
a vmware virtual machine for any random windows stuff I need to do.
