Nice to see everyone back. im still waiting on my laptop i ordered from dell
on 7/18
they seem to be having alot of problems now with getting parts for making
the laptops there still trying to sell
so if anyone is looking to buy a dell you might want to wait a lil bit.
theres allot of unhappy customers  not
getting there laptops and by the sounds of things there backed up badly and
still taking orders  oh i got the
magic est ship date of 8/28 like 1,000 of others ......

Im still selling my gateway laptop but not untill i get my vaporware 1720
.....


If i dont get my laptop i may just cancel my order soon too anyone have any
recommendations on a new laptop
I have been looking at lenovo  hp gateway sony  and even apple

things im looking for are
hard-drive space ( adding a future second drive would be nice )
17" screen size
2gb-ram
Nvidia video
linux working wifi
DVD-RW
dual-core processor at least 2.0 ghz
( may have to have a dual-boot option with winxp and support vmware well
under linux )
gateway has some nice tablet pc's with pen support but linux support for the
pen looks like its in its beta stage

The main problem with many companies getting a laptop  is support for linux
hardware wise theres always something that dont work
and ati video cards are not even an option i will never go through that
again.

Anyone try intel x31000 video yet is it any good ?
