Note that KDE "resource files" are not the "winres" resource files typical
of Windows; they are GNU gettext message catalogs (.mo or .gmo) which use
the untranslated message as the lookup key, and include rather advanced
support for printf format strings and number handling.

It still applies that the application writer has to make those strings
*available* to gettext for translation.
