Does anyone have any contacts with Blackhawk? Maybe we could open
this up for some other students there, or some faculty or regular
people. Last year at Augustana, we had a student demo a modded Xbox
running linux and some sort of video player/ music frontend. The name
of it escapes me... Anyway, DVR's and home theater systems are pretty
popular and the concepts, I think, are easily graspsed by even non
geeks. We obviously dont need Xboxes, but media devices like that
have a huge draw to people. Maybe we could use this to show that
Linux is viable outside of the server closet?
(i just read norris's email...we have the same idea, i think...)
And I am also returning from asia...China, Taiwan, and Japan! Can't
wait to hear about the meeting.
