[QCLUG] I do not have permissions....

In the past several years I have used 3 distros interchangeably. I
prefer SuSE, but the newest version keeps dropping the printer, and
require that I set it up almost every time I boot. Ubuntu seems to be
the perfect distro for my laptop, although there are 'working' things I
don't like about it. (I deplore apt-get)

Redhat on the other hand works well except: I have a sata drive that I
mount to a folder in my home directory. I can read it, but neither
fedora nor redhat lets me write to it as a user. I have altered the
fstab file to show ..... ,rw,user.... but to no avail. As root,
the system tells me I don't have permissions to change the drive. Any
ideas on what might be up?
