[Bulk] [QCLUG] I do not have permissions....

I had a PIII 800 laptop that I ran PCLinuxOS on until I dropped the damn thing,
and yes the hardware recognition, wireless, and others things about it were just
marvelous.
I want to run a redhat distro at home because that is what the main systems at
work are using.
I am running Ubuntu on my laptop because the school my step-son is attending is
looking a major computer purchase, with the possibility of using Edubuntu as the
OS. I would like to be "expert" enough in Ubuntu's ways to help this process along.
I am thinking my problem with writing to the drive lies in the SElinux enforcing
mode, but haven't been able to read much about it yet.
John
ps. Happy Thanksgiving!
