[QCLUG] Mandriva 2008

A couple of questions.

First, does anyone have the Mandriva 2008 DVD? If so,
could I get a copy? (For some reason I can't even
download the CD, it fails at various places from
various mirrors.) My son really wants the Beryl
(Coldfusion) or whatever it's called desktop.

Second, can I do an "upgrade" to 2008? I currently
have Mandriva 2007 loaded. The reason I am using
Mandriva is I dabbled with Mandrake a few times X
years ago and it seemed fairly good. I have tried
Ubuntu and Kubuntu and just can't seem to get them
configured for my wireless network card while Mandriva
was almost overly helpful with using NDISWRAPPER. Now
if I can figure out why Ubuntu/Kubuntu recognize my
sound card and automatically configure it when
Mandriva doesn't.

Third, why can't I get the upgrade feature to work. It
just won't go out to the archives. (I don't expect an
answer on this one at all yet because I am not
providing any details. Just putting it out there.)

Now if I only had the time to configure NTFS
read/write, figure out the sound card, WINE, ...

Unfortunately, for all its failings, I am stuck with
MS Windows for my daily work because it just works,
most of the time. Blah blah, be quiet Ron...
