I have finally found my ideal backup solution! This program comes as a download or cd media. I purchased the cd version as I like to have something physical as a back up. The drive imaging part is excellent! It does what it does without asking you 50 questions, and the interface is very well done. You find your source, the destination, click do, and it does. It works with firewire, and usb 2.0 external drives. It backed up my dual-boot 80G hd in about 45 minutes, and that was with the verify option on. The sole item that might scare/freak you out is that when it does start to work, it seems to only flash the hd light on your source drive. If you are formatting the destination drive, I can well understand how someone might freak out thinking that their source drive is being blanked! I haven't done much with the other utilities that it comes with, as I don't use Windows enough to care about them. I used them on Mom's system, and they work very well at defragging and setting up a weekly back up on her external drive. Since I dual-boot, I find that just using the drive image part from the cd to me much easier than the other bits. For once, a piece of commercial software that meets the 'just works' test! I on the other hand could not get it to restore, it kept asking for a password, I never set a password. Tech support was not all that helpful. After many tries I just went back to Ghost. The drive imaging part is excellent! It does what it does without asking you 50 questions, and the interface is very well done. You find your source, the destination, click do, and it does.
