Robert (correction - this was from moi, agamotto, not Robert) a myth demo would be great ( I also have a mythbox setup at home, well worth the investment of time ). Would you be comfortable putting together a scheduled presentation and answering user questions?
I (agamotto) would be happy to set up a presentation or two, along with the usual Q&A session. From the sounds of this, I can easily entertain myself much of the day in between with exploring the exhibits! The only bits I would require for the display would be a wireless connection somewhere in range, and a telly - either SDTV or HDTV, with one of the following - composite, VGA, or DVI inputs. I can put together some pamphlets, burn some cds for those who want to try, along with cheatsheets with recommended hardware.
It will be great to see some involvement from the Local LUG. So far none of the IT people or CS students I have talked to even knew that there was a local group.
We are rather informal with our group, as we can't get many people to the meetings every month due to life concerns.
Since the last email I have been in contact with the St. Ambrose computer club, they are planning on putting a few machines together loaded with vmware and a plethora of different distros.
Hmmm, more penguinistas with stuff on display... Jim, you can finally torture some without having to crash your own hardware! chuckle
