Is there any reason you choose the Zebra over Quagga?

On Fri, Dec 5, 2008 at 10:49 AM, David Hinkle <hinkle@cipafilter.com> wrote:

We actually use zebra ospf to do our routing, so everything is dynamic. Zebra is very, very, buggy, so it takes a lot of tinkering to make it work right, but in the end it is what worked best for us.
Subject: Re: [QCLUG] Thanks CIPAFilter guys!

I know it's a little late but Thanks! I had a great time. It was great to
see some of the wireless equipment, and getting a chance to discuss your
product. Chris and I didn't end up stealing your mobile wireless mount. We
are on the other hand trying to come up with some sort of reason you can
give the boss for us to take it on a test run.
I have now been to two meetings and I would have to say the meeting at CIPA
was the best. It was really great to discuss practical application of the
open source tools that I use daily.

During the meeting I had mentioned a full drop in exchange replacement. The
tool is called Zarafa. They were closed source only until September when
they released most of their code via the GPLv3. The active sync replacement
"Z push" is available in the GPLv2.

They still have some closed source technologies but hey it's a start. You
can view the website here: http://www.zarafa.com/?q=en/content/community-0

I think that having a really good exchange replacement could make the
difference in moving more office environments to Linux.

I also had another question for the guys at CIPAFilter. With your wireless
routers do they keep a static table of the other routers it connects with or
is the routing done dynamically?

Thanks again,
