Shockwave stuff doesn't work in Linux, Shockwave and Flash are different things.

Mark

On 10/1/07, Arron Lorenz <

Noah said that flash games won't play in linux... thus far I haven't had any problems with flash games. as far as 3d acceleration most of the native linux games that we can install (that are kid friendly) won't need 3d graphics.

well i have some hardware i have a couple p4 1.4-1.7 ghz processors. i have 2 amd systems that have the celoron equivialent from amd 1-2 ghz i believe ( takes ddr ram ) although you could install dansgaurding its best to install at the firewall box . wouldnt really need antivirus
problem im seeing is this
1) the computer is powerful enough to play whatever the kids want to play
activeX crap that wont play and possible shockwave games wont play in linux (most likely need hardware acceration for 3d too)
and we are back to all those windows only games and websites that hurt adoption of change and standards. theres Wine too

this could become a good little experiment because others become aware of choices besides the default MS choice.
it all depends how nice we put it together.

Europe might be doing something interesting to microsoft. they want to force no bundling the windows OS with all computers sold there.
